However they are also busy with real work, shooting college sports, due to this my life, photographically speaking, was crazy. I know “how does this effect me?” Well it means that my blog is going to have a bit of a hole in it. But I did write down my thoughts with each of the trips that I posted from the months.

Each trip is linked separately below:
Yellowstone August 29th - September 1st
Yellowstone September 13th & 14th
Yellowstone September 20th - 22nd
Yellowstone September 27th - 29th
Beartooth Highway & Yellowstone October 5th
Yellowstone October 12th - 14th

Look for one last trip to be added soon (October 31st - November 2nd).

Enjoy and thanks for reading.

They had a great time, and I got some images.

The weather was finally warm and the snow was finally really melting away. Because I had tourists to show around I did take some classic YNP images (thermal features) shortly after that we moved on to the subjects of spring. Bears (with cubs) & Bison (with calves). We also encountered the Druid Wolf pack (150ish yards) and some Proghorn Antelope, Elk, and a long list of birds.

The highlight was spending a morning with a popular Black Bear and her two cubs (one cinnamon and one black).

A short post for a short trip (May 16th - 19th) take a look at the photos (here), and as always thanks for reading and Enjoy...

May... my favorite month in the park (well the first half anyway).

This trip (May 7th - 12th) goes down in the books as one of my best (photographically speaking) trips yet. Part of that I will attribute to my newest lens addition (Canon’s amazing 300/2.8L IS). The rest I will attribute to interesting weather and simply the magical time of year that May is.

The highlight of the trip was spending a few hours with a rather large Boar Grizzly Bear. He was interested only in himself and his attitude made for so (my biased opinion) great images. another of my rare encounters was with a young female Grey Wolf (who just wanted to play in the snow) and happened to do it very near my lens. I also had the chance to watch and Osprey and a Bald Eagle fight over a fish (providing me with some unique images).

I had encounters with a few different wolves (within 150 yards), Bighorn Sheep, A great Grey Owl, many Osprey and Eagles, Great Blue Heron, Sandhill Cranes, Harlequin Duck (an hour alone with them), Lesser Scaup, Mountain Bluebird, Mountain Chickadee, Ring-necked Duck, Ruddy Duck, Western Grebe (very cool bird to observer), Northern Shoveler, Trumpeter Swans, American White Pelicans, Brewer's Blackbird, Bison (in snow) & (calves playing), Uinta Ground Squirrels, and quite a few wintery landscapes.

I could go on for hours about this trip; but the best way is to look at the trip for yourselves (here).

Enjoy and thanks for reading...

As expected life got the best of me and my posts went by the wayside...

But I am back at this and will get this back log up to date with my trips and hope to speed things up in the future to keep my readers up to date.

In keeping with my monthly visit to Yellowstone National Park i made a two day trip to the park (19th & 20th) with a friend and fellow photographer Jonathan Brinkrant.

The weather was cool but the park was teaming with wildlife. We had great luck in spotting a Badger near its den (the same den that I spotted it make a wintry escape from). We also had a few enjoyable hours with some Trumpeter Swans (on the fire-hole river), Sandhill Cranes (males displaying to win the affection of females), a few eagles (on some of the many carcasses that the melting snow has uncovered), Osprey (fishing), Bison (near and on some thermal features), Elk, Bighorn Sheep, Golden-eye, Mergansers, Mountain Bluebirds, and many Coyotes (on and near carcasses), and a few wintery landscapes.

The real point of the trip was met with great success. I timed the Bison rut last year and made some predictions as to Bison calving this spring and luck must have been on my side; because we had the opportunity to observe many mothers in the act of and in the short time after calving. This ranks as one of the more intimate wildlife photographing experiences I have had in the park.

The photos from the trip are online here. Thanks for being patient with me and thanks for reading...
