Rocky Mountain College offers four post-graduate programs that fulfill specific needs not available at other regional universities and that provide occupational advantages to our students.
The Rocky Mountain College Occupational Doctorate Program is one of the first Montana-based occupational therapy doctorate programs in the state of Montana. As a post-baccalaureate, entry-level professional doctoral degree, applicants must complete all the requirements for a bachelor’s degree prior to matriculation into the program.
A master's degree in physician assistant studies (MPAS) better prepares physician assistant students who enter primary-care careers in underserved settings. Nurtured through their educational training with the medical community, along with their improved understanding of clinical research, underserved patient populations, and clinic management, RMC's graduates will be more adept at functioning on an interdisciplinary health care team under the supervision of a physician.
A master's of accountancy is unique for a college of our size. RMC is the only college to offer this type of degree in eastern Montana. Students may enter this program as an RMC undergraduate or as a student who already holds a baccalaureate degree from another institution. The Master of Accountancy Program offers students an opportunity to leverage their position in the world of work, where, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic Job Outlook, an estimated 1,570,000 jobs in accounting are expected to be created by 2013.
RMC offers a third master's program, educational leadership, which is designed to help fill the increasing vacancies in school administrations across the state and nationwide. This is another degree not offered anywhere else in eastern Montana except at RMC. The RMC Master of Educational Leadership Program provides an accelerated 11-month program of study with online, face-to-face, and interactive television instruction. The program is modeled on the Effective Schools Research, which was developed by Dr. Larry Lazotte. The program covers theory to practice. Beyond courses offered at a distance, program participants will have mentors at their school location. The program covers K-12 administration, so successful graduates will be qualified to fill a wide range of positions in elementary and high schools. After program completion, students will be able to apply for licensure as a principal or superintendent.
