Communication Studies

Communication studies majors and minors gain a theoretically rigorous understanding of communication, and in so doing, gain critical thinking skills, explore ethical issues, and develop abilities as written and oral communicators. Communication studies is a versatile and marketable degree that enables students to communicate effectively in culturally diverse interpersonal and professional contexts, including public relations, advertising, event planning, sales, and teaching. Students also may continue on to graduate and law school.
