Theatre Arts Student Learning Outcomes
Performance Emphasis Major
Students who graduate with a major in theatre - performance emphasis will:
- Build performance skills;
- Explore themselves and their production role through the creative process;
- Work comfortably within a variety of styles and periods;
- Use the senses, imagination, movement, emotion, concentration, and voice to build character (as either an actor or director); and
- Learn the necessary skills for placement in graduate school or the job market.
Technical Emphasis Major
Students who graduate with a major in theatre - technical emphasis will:
- Build performance skills;
- Explore themselves and their production role through the creative process;
- Work comfortably within a variety of styles and periods;
- Use stage management, lighting design, set design, makeup design, sound design, and/or costume design to help implement the concept for a play; and
- Learn the necessary skills for placement in graduate school or the job market.
