Biography
Karen Beiser (aka Dr. Mittens) has been at RMC since 2007. Prior to joining the faculty at RMC, Karen spent most of her professional years working in sales and marketing. For more than 20 years, Karen worked in the office furniture industry in marketing and corporate training. Once she earned her PhD, Karen decided to try her hand in the nonprofit sector and found that running a program for at-risk youth was exciting, challenging, heartbreaking, and exhilarating. As the Executive Director of that program, Karen had a real opportunity to apply the principles of business to the nonprofit world, and she found there was some great synergy to be had. Here at Rocky, Karen continues that new tradition in both the business and nonprofit sectors through community projects, students creating marketing plans for nonprofits, and through SIFE.
