Gazette staff | Posted: Monday, December 7, 2009 12:15 am

The men’s and women’s golf teams from Rocky Mountain College are ranked in the NAIA preseason Top 25 polls.

The Battlin’ Bear men are No. 9 in the poll, while Rocky’s women are 17th.

Oklahoma City University is No. 1 in both the men’s and women’s polls.

Rocky’s men sit in first place in the Frontier Conference after the fall season. Rival Lewis-Clark State of Idaho received votes in the poll, but not enough to move into the Top 25.

For the women, Lewis-Clark is ranked at No. 24. After the fall season, Rocky is in first place in the Frontier and Lewis-Clark is second.

Rocky’s women have made 11 consecutive appearances at the national tournament.
