RMC’s Baker nearing 10,000-yard milestone

BILLINGS – October 8, 2014 – Rocky Mountain College quarterback Bryce Baker is closing in on becoming the second Battlin’ Bear in school history to surpass 10,000 yards of career total offense.

Baker, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound senior from Fernley, Nev., is only 206 yards short of 10,000 career yards going into Saturday’s game at Montana Tech. Baker, according to Bill Bighaus of the Billings Gazette, has completed 9,794 yards of offense and been responsible for 95 touchdowns during his 36-game Rocky career.

Baker is averaging 256.8 yards per game. If he reaches 10,000 yards, Baker will become just the sixth Frontier Conference player to do so.

Kasey Peters, who starred at quarterback for the Battlin’ Bears from 2008-10, holds Rocky’s school record with 10,739 total yards.

The Battlin’ Bears are ranked No. 17 in the latest NAIA Top-25 Coaches’ poll, and stand at 2-2 in league play (5th place) and 3-2 overall.
