Henderson resigns as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at RMC
BILLINGS, Mar. 17, 2014 – Rocky Mountain College Women’s Basketball Coach Brian Henderson announced his resignation, effective today. Henderson has coached at RMC for 15 seasons.
“It is time for me to be able to put my family first,” said Henderson. “They have always been asked to make sacrifices so I could be a college basketball coach. I think after 20 years of coaching college basketball I need to be with my own children more.”
Henderson and his wife, LynAnne, will have two sons in high school next fall and their older daughters are still active in sports, with the oldest, Dani, coaching basketball at Laurel, and Jace heading to the University of Montana to play volleyball for the Grizzlies next fall.
“I want to thank Rocky for allowing me to be the women’s basketball coach for as long as I have. Rocky is a great institution and I am proud to have been able to call it home. We have had some amazing young women go through our program over the years, and I’ll cherish those friendships.
RMC Athletic Director Robert Beers said the College’s students who played basketball during the Henderson years learned about character and integrity while maintaining high academic standards to match their athletic accomplishments. “I want to thank Brian for all he has done for our student-athletes and this college. He is one of the nicest and supportive people I have had the privilege of working with; he will be missed.”
