Billings Community Foundation honors founding board member Obert Undem with Community Vitality Endowment
BILLINGS, May 29, 2014 – An awards dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at Prescott Hall at Rocky Mountain College will honor founding Billings Community Foundation board member Obert Undem, the director of planned giving at Rocky Mountain College, and also recognize community organization recipients of 2014 BCF grants. The BCF has established the Obert Undem Community Vitality Endowment in Undem’s honor.
Undem has been tireless in his work to generate endowment gifts for deserving charities in the greater Billings area.
From 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, the foundation hosts a seminar in Morledge-Kimball Hall on campus, presented by Dan Miller, CPA, on “Principles for Good Governance and Ethical Practices.” There is no charge but reservations are required.
The Billings Community Foundation is a non-profit community fund, governed by local citizens, that promotes philanthropy. Its mission is to “enhance the capacity of donors and charitable organizations to meet the needs of the greater Billings community.” To that end, the BCF organizes financial vehicles to support local charities. The foundation sets up endowment gift annuities that qualify for the Montana 40% tax credit for philanthropy, and other cost-effective strategies that increase endowment assets and clients’ efforts for greater Billings charitable organizations.
The BCF offers more information on the evening’s events at 839-3334 or by email at email@example.com.
