RMC alum on track for doctorate of physical therapy
BILLINGS, April 22 – Kristin Ballbach (’11) is putting her exercise science degree to work and is about to graduate from the University of New England School of Physical Therapy, in Portland, Maine, as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).
Ballbach, who is originally from Rapelje, Mont., studied exercise science at RMC and was a four-year participant in the cross-country running program. It was her time on the track that attracted her to the idea of working with athletes and physical therapy, Ballbach said. Although once in the program, she has found her true passion lies in geriatric and hospital-based medicine.
“I had a great time at Rocky. The people, professors, and coaches, especially Coach [Alan] King shaped me into who I am today.” Becoming a physical therapist is “what I wanted for a long time … I’m really grateful.”
Director of Alumni Relations Cody Rose said, “"Rocky Mountain College is extremely proud of Kristin and all of her achievements. Thank you for being a positive role model, and we look forward to hearing more about your future accomplishments."
Ballbach hopes to return to Montana one day, and she remains a lifelong fan of RMC track.
