RMC to host Literacy University on April 15 for elementary students

BILLINGS, April 8, 2016 – Rocky Mountain College's will host Literacy University on April 15, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Bair Family Student Center. The event will consist of five booths being run by RMC students to promote literacy to elementary age children. Approximately 55 first graders from Highland Elementary and 38 second graders from Rose Park Elementary are scheduled to attend.

"We are excited to provide a fun on-campus event for these elementary age students to attend and get excited about literacy,” said RMC Community Services Coordinator Jill Washburn. “Rocky Mountain College is committed to being an engaged campus and giving back to the Billings community. It is exciting for us to have the elementary students come to a college for the very first time and hope that we not only get them excited about reading but perhaps inspire them to go to college someday."

All participants will receive one book each and RMC will also provide books to the libraries at Highland and Rose Park.
