Director’s Welcome

I'm pleased you are researching our aviation program here at Rocky Mountain College.

We have an excellent state-of-the-art aviation program with a firm foundation in the liberal arts. This is a great plus because we educate our future pilots in much more than just how to fly a plane. At RMC, you will continue to learn about leadership, communication, decision-making, and teamwork while training with cutting-edge technology both in the air and on the ground.

We offer a four-year bacehlor's of science degree in aeronautical science (professional pilot) that prepares graduates for careers as pilots in a great variety of career fields. We also offer a bachelor's of science degree in aviation management, which prepares graduates for management positions in aviation. Our graduates in both majors do most everything in aviation, including working for airlines, corporations, charter companies, the military, flight schools, airports, and missions organizations. We also have minors in dispatch and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) that will prepare graduates for careers in those fields.

At RMC, you have access to many scholarships and internships, and you'll have time to be involved in countless activities in the life of the College including intercollegiate athletics, music, drama, clubs, student government, and overseas trips. We have our own flight operations, so everyone working with you is committed to your success. Class sizes in aviation average only 11 students, so professors and other students will really get to know you.

If you think RMC may be a good fit for you, call me at 406.657.1060 so we can talk about your goals. Our admission office can also arrange a tour of the campus, a chance to visit with me, and an opportunity to see our flight operations first-hand. We can give you academic credit for previous flight training.

RMC is personal and professional. Everyone knows everyone. You will have small classes and a very professional staff of professors and flight instructors. We are very committed to our mission and know that you would enjoy your time here. This is a fun and exciting place to learn and a great place to become an aviation professional.

Good luck with your decision and research. Please let me know if I can help.
