Dr. Kalyn Briggs
Dr. Briggs has been an occupational therapist for over 15 years, receiving her Master of Science degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND in 2002, and her PhD in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2012. Dr. Briggs’s practice area of experience is with the adult population, specifically adults with neurological conditions. Her research interests and experience include stroke and stroke rehabilitation, and more recently addressing rural health care needs of adults with neurological conditions.
Dr. Briggs has been an active volunteer with AOTA, NBCOT, MOTA and is a member of the Montana Stroke Workgroup. She is currently serving as the Communications Coordinator for the Academic Education Special Interest Section of AOTA. She has a passion for teaching and learning in the field of occupational therapy, and is excited for the many opportunities that are available for growing occupational therapy in the state of Montana and the region.
Dr. Briggs is a Montana native, born and raised in Glendive, with family still residing there. Dr. Briggs is married and has a 7-year-old son and 24-year-old step-daughter. Dr. Briggs will serve as the Director of Academic Fieldwork for the Rocky Mountain College, Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program and teach Anatomy Clinical Lab, Neuroscience and the adult-based content.
