Dr.Shelly Noel is the Capstone Coordinator for the Rocky Mountain College OTD Program. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy(OT) from the University of Puget Sound and her Post-Professional Doctorate in OT from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Dr.Noel is currently the Chairperson for the Montana Occupational Therapy Association(MOTA) legislative committee and the Montana representative to the American Occupational Therapy Association(AOTA).
Dr. Noel has practiced for the past 30+ years in Colorado, Georgia, and Montana, specializing in hands, pediatrics and geriatrics. She and her husband have worked and lived with refugees from Africa, the Middle East, Central and South Asia. Dr. Noel has provided international OT, collaborating with native practitioners and community members. She has recently started a mobile therapy business, Montana Independent OT Advantage, to improve rural healthcare access to rehabilitation. She plans to conduct occupation-based research focusing on rural health access, scholarship of engagement with service learning, and culture.
Dr. Noel was born into a military family, and raised her three children in Colorado. She and her husband enjoy camping, fishing and hiking. They rotate their travels to visit family and grandchildren in Colorado, California and Idaho.
