Dr. Rebecca Polich Joins RMC’s Biology Faculty

In her words, "I have always been passionate about science and education. When I began my undergraduate career, my dream was to become a high school biology teacher. However, as I furthered my career in biology and began working in a Salamander Ecology and Genetics lab, I found that I was falling in love with research. Research caused my wonder and respect for the natural world around me to increase. In addition, I greatly valued the mentoring experiences I had with my undergraduate adviser and his graduate students and came to feel that they were a critical component of the education I received as an undergraduate. I found that I wanted to continue to perform research, and that as a college professor, I could merge my love of research with my love of teaching. Indeed, I realized that the two are intricately connected, each enhancing and informing the other.

As an Assistant Professor at Rocky Mountain College, I am excited to continue to grow in my research and teaching. I strive to provide for my students the best learning experiences available, both within the laboratory and within the classroom."

Rocky Mountain College and its Biology department are excited to welcome Dr. Polich to our campus.
