Precious McKenzie, who has been at Rocky since the fall of 2011, came to RMC after earning a doctorate in English with a specialization in Nineteenth-Century British Literature from the University of South Florida-Tampa.
Precious is the author of over thirty books for children, including Cinder Yeti a picture book that was recognized as the Montana selection for the National Book Festival's Discover Great Places Through Reading Program. She is also the author of middle grade novels. Her most recent historical fiction is Ruffian, a novel about the life of the Thoroughbred racehorse. Precious has also had poems published in ellipsis, Gemini, Fever Dream Magazine, and as part of Tupelo Press's 30/30 Project. She is the author of numerous academic books and articles on gender, travel, and imperialism.
Precious is a member of the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association and the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.
