Exercise Science
This concentration is designed to prepare individuals for work with fitness and health promotion programs in corporate, community, hospital, and health club settings. Certification either as a health/fitness instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine or as a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association is strongly recommended.
Sports Management
The sports management concentration prepares students to run sports programs, facilities, sporting goods stores, etc. The major is interdisciplinary, including several courses in business and physical education, with other courses in communications, psychology, and sociology. This option also requires a three-credit internship through either the business department or the physical education department.
Students graduating from Rocky Mountain College with the sports management concentration are ready to enter the workforce in many areas, as well as graduate school in sports administration/management. Career opportunities are available in colleges and universities, sports stadiums and arenas, city recreation/sports programs, semi-professional and professional sports programs, golf courses/country clubs, ski resorts, and many other areas.
K-12 Physical Education & Health
A major in Health and Human Performance K-12 Education prepares students to become health and P.E. teachers. In order to meet Montana's health certification requirements, students will also complete the professional education program for K-12 education majors as described in the "Education" section.
