Job Responsibilities

I work one-on-one with students and their families from Washington state and the Billings area, helping them through the admission and financial aid processes. I am also responsible for miscellaneous administrative tasks within the office.

A Little About Me

My name is Austin Mapston, and while I may be one of the few people in the Office of Admissions who has not graduated from Rocky Mountain College, I can attest to the commitment and passion that all who work here have for the institution and for the success of each and every student. This is one of the many aspects that makes RMC so special.

In order to gain firsthand knowledge of what it is like to be in a classroom at RMC, I have been working on various courses over the years with RMC faculty – an experience that has been very rewarding. I have also instructed our freshman seminar courses, where first-year students are exposed to all that is available to them at RMC and in Billings. This course is a precursor to much of the success that our students achieve over the course of their tenure as a student.

I am excited that you are considering Rocky Mountain College, and I welcome any questions that you may have. I look forward to getting to know you and your family better and helping you decide if Rocky Mountain College is the right fit for you.

Spot on campus: Center court during a basketball game.
Thing about RMC: The history of campus and amazing stone buildings.
Restaurant: Cham Tai or the midnight run to Taco Johns.
Season: The fall – minus those early snow storms.

When Visiting

Be sure to check out the many local restaurants, sneak off to Red Lodge for great skiing, and take a Sunday drive through Yellowstone National Park.

My Advice

Visit the schools you are considering, apply early, and enjoy your senior year.
