Position Description

Rocky Mountain College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Assistant Clinical Professor (non-tenure track). We are seeking a candidate who values being a team player and has an interest in expanding occupational therapy services in a heavily rural, frontier state. 

The successful candidate will contribute to student growth and development primarily through teaching. However, advising, including academic advising, advising of research groups and mentoring student-based research projects will also constitute a key component of this position. The candidate will be expected to develop community-based connections that provide learning opportunities for students and build awareness about the distinct value of occupational therapy.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 5 courses per academic year, including Anatomy and Movement, Development and Disability across the Lifespan, Neuroscience in Occupational Therapy, Occupational Performance Across the Lifespan: Assessment and Evaluation (Adults), and Understanding Adults as Occupational Beings. In addition, the candidate will be expected to team-teach several classes in the fall, including Clinical Reasoning and Evidence-based Practice and Seminar Series 2 and 4.

Outstanding candidates will demonstrate a commitment to serving a culturally diverse student body through delivering a student-centered education and will be able to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. The ideal candidate will be an occupational therapy practitioner interested in moving into the academic field, with an understanding of the challenges and adjustments required in moving from one context to the other. Such a practitioner should be currently licensed or otherwise regulated in the state or jurisdiction as an occupational therapist. A PhD in Occupational Therapy is preferred, but an OTD or other doctorate-level degree will be considered.

This position is full-time and is eligible for benefits. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, long term disability, short term disability, and tuition remission. Salary is $90,000 a year. Candidates will be subject to a fingerprint background check. The position begins August 15, 2021.

Bound on the north and east by the 400-foot sandstone cliffs known as the Rimrocks, Billings boasts a climate that is mild year-round.   • Big Sky Ski Resort and Moonlight Basin are both 3 hours from Billings
  • Bridger Bowl Ski Resort is 2 hours from Billings
