As a part of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), federal law requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus fire incidents and safety policies for all on campus housing facilities. All public and private institutions of postsecondary education participating in federal student aid programs are subject to this reporting.
