Welcome to Residence Life at Rocky Mountain College

Your Home Away from Home

No matter where you live on the RMC campus, you are about to become part of a close community. In our residence halls, you will build close relationships and create memories that will last a lifetime. Just as you will learn and grow through your classes, you will enrich your life through the activities, friendships and fun of residence hall living.

What to Expect...

Residence halls are more than a place to sleep; they are living-learning communities full of opportunities for you to make friends and expand your horizons. The Residence Life Staff will be there every step of the way to assist you. We look forward to meeting you and enhancing your educational experience.

Rocky Mountain College students are required to live on campus for two years. Exceptions can be made for students who meet specific criteria. For those students seeking an off-campus exemption, please complete and return the Off-Campus Housing Exemption Request Form

COVID-19 Housing Move-in Protocols

Housing Check-In Sign-Up Process

New residential students arriving on August 28 are required to schedule a move-in time prior to their arrival on campus. Students should Contact Residence Life at 406-657-1015 or housing@rocky.edu to select their move-in time.

Please Note:

  • Each student will have 2-hours to move into their room to allow for proper social distancing for other scheduled check-in groups.

  • If students need to cancel or change their move-in time, they need to contact Residence Life at 406-657-1015 or housing@rocky.edu to discuss their change.

Move-In Health and Safety Expectations

The Residence Life staff has been working closely with RMC, county, and state officials to evaluate all aspects of campus housing and required adjustments in our physical environment. We will continue to work with our partners to develop mitigation strategies for all of our residents moving into the residence halls. In an effort to provide a safe and streamlined process for everyone as they move-in, Residence Life is asking that all students and families abide by the expectations laid out below for the move-in process:

  • All students and family members are to wear masks when they enter the residence halls. Many of our hallways and public spaces do not allow for 6-feet of social distancing and we are asking for your assistance by wearing a mask.

  • All students are limited to 2 family members or guests in the building during the move-in process. This does not limit the number of additional family members or guests outside of the building, but in an effort to limit the number of people in the buildings, we will be enforcing the guest and visitor policy upon entry to the building.

  • RMC will be placing various markers on the ground identifying specific spots to wait for service. We ask that all students and family members abide by the markers on the ground to provide for ample space between individuals in and around our buildings.

Once you have arrived to campus, here are some helpful hints that will make your transition a smooth and positive one:

  • Anderson and Widenhouse Halls are on the east end of campus (access from Poly Drive). Jorgenson and Rimview Halls are found on the west end of campus (access from 17th Street West).
  • Attend all orientation activities. They will familiarize you with the campus and staff, making your transition most successful.
  • Meet as many people as possible during your first few days at school. You will find that many people have the same aspirations and interests that you do.
  • Get to know your Resident Advisor (RA) and Area Coordinator (AC). They will prove to be great friends and resources throughout the year.
  • Internet info: All students will have access to the high speed internet and be assigned a rocky email account.  This account will serve as the main means of contact for all RMC communication.  Please be sure to check your rocky email on a daily basis.
    • Your email address will consist of your first name.last name@rocky.edu.
      • Example: john.smith@rocky.edu
      • After arriving to campus, the student must activate the Internet connection. If difficulties arise, contact the academic computing office at 406.657.1161 or in Eaton Hall 2A.
