Diversity and Inclusivity
Rocky Mountain College is committed to equity and inclusion. We pursue and embrace all forms of diversity throughout all operations. We are a community devoted to free inquiry and the freedom to express ideas and opinions that lead to civil dialogue and deep understanding of meaningful and reasonable issues. Our core values insist on respect for the individual based on each person's inherent dignity and value regardless of differences of race, creed, color, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, political opinions or affiliations, socio-economic circumstance, or veteran status.
Rocky Mountain College seeks to contribute to a world characterized by mutual respect and reasoned dialogue. To that end, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community that, through intentional recruitment, clear communication, mutual respect, and a collaborative atmosphere, draws upon a wide variety of views and is supportive of each member of its faculty, students, and staff.
The Rocky Mountain College Task Force for Diversity and Inclusivity is committed to educating the campus community on topics of diversity and social justice by engaging students in critical thought and civil dialogue about privilege and inequity, and by empowering students to become leaders in their own community and the greater world.

Diversity is a reality at Rocky Mountain College; we acknowledge that there are varied identities and differences in race, ethnicity, creed, color, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, political perspective, and socio-economic status that we seek to proactively engage, respect, and understand.
Inclusion is what we do through our actions and accommodations that ensure that everyone can be included and feel welcome. At Rocky Mountain College, we build a culture of belonging by actively inviting all persons to participate fully in planning, implementation, and decision-making.
Equity is leveling the playing field. At Rocky Mountain College, we strive to create balance in the face of power differences by ensuring just treatment, equality, and fairness in access to information, resources, and opportunities. We commit to working actively to challenge and respond to bias, harassment and discrimination.
Privilege is social power based solely on membership in a dominant identity group. We believe we have a responsibility to address these inequities.
Social Justice is taking action to ensure that everyone receives equal rights, equal opportunities and equal treatment. At Rocky Mountain College, we strive to open the doors of access and opportunity for everyone, to address potential barriers, and to create an open and collaborative environment where all can express ideas, participate safely, and achieve success.
