Archived COVID-19 Notifications
Rocky Mountain College is joining other educational institutions in Montana to take steps to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and help protect the health and safety of our students and community.
The College has moved to online/alternative instruction through the end of the semester. All College events and College-sponsored travel are canceled through the end of the semester. In conjunction with the NAIA’s decision to suspend its spring sports seasons, RMC athletic practices, travel and competition have been suspended as well. The College will continue to monitor the situation and address instruction and activities after the end of the semester in the coming weeks.
Though this is an evolving situation and we must observe all current or new local, state, or federal orders, it is our hope to have residence halls, food service, and other essential College functions open for the remainder of the term for those students who believe that staying on campus is their best safety decision. But we would like to emphasize that, should students have a safe and appropriate alternative residence, we encourage them to go there.

General Information / Precautions +
You can take simple steps to limit the spread of this or any virus:
CDC Recommendations to Prevent Spread of Disease
- Stay home when you are sick (and until your symptoms are gone).
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If a tissue is unavailable, use the inside of your elbow, never your hand.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
If you have a fever, cough or have trouble breathing:
- Seek medical care. Call ahead before you go to a doctor’s office or emergency room.
- Tell your doctor about your recent travel and your symptoms.
- Avoid contact with others.

Staff Information +
Rocky Mountain College Human Resources is continually monitoring COVID-19 developments and will update this page as information changes. We will provide additional communication and guidance for supervisors as developments warrant.
On March 15, RMC supervisors were asked to begin the next step of social distancing by phasing in arrangements for employees to work from home whenever possible. Employees should continue to look for email communications from their supervisors.
The College remains open, and on-campus staffing will continue to meet mission-critical operations such as student housing, dining services, computer labs, etc. Please note that all buildings were closed on March 18. However, faculty and staff will be able to access their building and personal offices as needed using their ID badge.
Please review the complete RMC Human Resources COVID-19 guidelines for information on a number of topics, including workplace procedures, college hiring, remote work, hourly employee procedures, sick policy, and guidance for workers at higher risk.
