RMC accepting nominations for the 2015 Clara Klindt Athletic Hall of Fame
BILLINGS, February 26, 2015 – As part of its longstanding commitment to recognize athletic excellence, Rocky Mountain College is accepting nominations for the 2015 Clara Klindt Athletic Hall of Fame. The deadline for nominations is March 15, 2015.
Each year, Rocky Mountain College inducts outstanding scholar-athletes, achievers, and friends of the athletic program into the prestigious Clara Klindt Athletic Hall of Fame. The categories considered for induction include RMC student-athletes, teams, coaches, and athletic directors who have distinguished themselves, along with alumnus who have made major contributions in the field of athletics at either the high school, college, or professional levels.
Student-athletes and teams must wait 10 years after their final season to be eligible, while coaches and athletic directors have a five-year waiting period. There is no time requirement for individuals who have made major contributions elsewhere.
Inductees will be honored at the annual Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, which is held during the Hall of Fame weekend in the fall. This banquet is an important time for the Offices of Alumni Relations and Athletics to commemorate deserving leaders for their efforts and contributions to Rocky Mountain College athletics.
In addition to the Hall of Fame recognition, an Outstanding Contributor Award will also be presented to recognize a person who has significantly contributed to RMC athletics, either monetarily or through service to the College’s athletic program. This recipient will not be a Hall of Fame inductee, but the award will be handed out as part of the ceremony.
RMC’s Hall of Fame Board will review the Hall of Fame and Outstanding Contributor nominees and make a decision by April 15. Inductees, teams, and the outstanding contributor will be notified by May 1. There will be a maximum of three individual inductees annually, excluding team inductions. Teams selected to the Hall of Fame will also be included in RMC’s Ring of Honor.
The criteria for consideration and nomination form are both available online at www.rocky.edu/athletics/HallOfFame or by contacting RMC’s Athletic Director Bruce Parker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
