Career Fair co-hosted by Rocky and MSUB scheduled for February 12
BILLINGS, January 22, 2015 – Rocky Mountain College’s Career Services, in collaboration with MSU-Billings, will co-host a Career Fair on February 12, 2015, from 12 – 3 p.m., on the second floor of the Student Union Building at MSU-Billings. A free shuttle service will be available for those traveling between the RMC and MSU-Billings campuses.
The Career Fair is free and open to the public. It will include approximately 50 employers from the surrounding area who will be available to connect with students and other attendees. Typically, the event is filled with students who are about to graduate and are looking for full-time careers. There will also be opportunities for internship positions.
Those who plan to attend the Career Fair are encouraged to bring their résumés, arrive in professional attire, and be prepared to ask questions of prospective employers. Some of the companies currently registered to attend include Billings Clinic, Phillips 66, and Star West Satellite, just to name a few.
“This is an excellent opportunity for students to not only find potential internships or professional careers, but also a chance for them to practice having professional conversations with employers,” said RMC's Director of Career Services Lisa Wallace. “I would encourage students at all stages to participate, not just those who are seniors.”
RMC’s Career Services will be available to assist students in building a résumé, provide job services techniques, and offer interviewing strategies. Students are also encouraged to design an individualized career development plan that will build important skills and professionalism that employers are seeking.
The shuttle will be available to RMC students in the parking lot of Widenhouse Hall every 45 minutes during the Career Fair. MSU-Billings will also print an Employer Directory about two weeks prior to the event. This directory will include details on the employers who are attending, descriptions of their organizations, and potential job openings. Students interested in participating in the Career Fair can pick up a copy of the directory in RMC’s Career Services office in the Bair Family Student Center.
