Newly renovated dining room at RMC set for completion in time for fall semester
BILLINGS, July 23, 2015 – Rocky Mountain College will have a newly remodeled dining room completed by the time students return to campus for the fall semester. This renovation, which has been underway for the entire summer, will also include a new Starbucks (‘We Proudly Serve’) coffee concept.
Sodexo Operations Manager Jennifer Koch said, “We are very excited to announce that we will have a newly renovated dining room for the students to enjoy this fall. The renovated dining room will have many new features, including a new look with brand new seating, tables, counters, and flooring. We will also have a new ‘My Zone Allergy Free’ area that will cater to guests with lactose, nut, and gluten allergies.”
Koch explained that the upgraded dining room will also include a new Chef’s Table station, which will feature fresh, made-to-order entrees, and a new soup, salad, and sandwich station.
“We have also upgraded our signage, which will now include digital menu signs with nutritional information posted,” added Koch. The dining area will also include new walls with charging outlets for those who need to give their computer or phone a boost.
“We are also very excited to announce that we have partnered with Pepsi in our dining room, retail, and concessions operations,” said Koch. She added that the changes will include a new register system in the dining room that will allow guests to pay with cash, credit/debit cards, as well as meal cards. “So if you just want to buy a single meal, this is now available,” noted Koch.
There are also changes to the Bear’s Den, or “Grill,” which will now be replaced with a new Coffee Shop area.
“By altering the space to a more singular focus, we believe it will improve customer service and create an inviting environment for students, faculty and staff, and community members,” explained Karin Thorgramson, the unit marketing coordinator for Sodexo. “We are happy to announce that we will proudly serve Starbucks in the new Coffee Shop.”
The Coffee Shop is based on a retail concept, which will offer freshly brewed Starbucks specialty coffee, espresso drinks, and blended drinks. There will also be morning pastry options, including freshly baked muffins, pastries, and bagels that are made by a local bakery. The Coffee Shop will also house a pastry case that will offer various dessert options throughout the day.
Koch added that the Coffee Shop will also include a large “Simply to Go Case,” which will offer weekly specials, sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, and other easy-to-grab items that are conveniently packaged and ready to go.
“We will also have extended hours and new barista positions,” explained Koch. “We are excited that this renovation will help increase student employment opportunities.”
