BILLINGS, March 12, 2015 – RMC is honored to announce that Christopher O’Riley, acclaimed pianist and host of NPR’s From the Top, will be working with students during a masterclass on March 21, 2015, from 3:00-4:00 p.m., in Prescott Hall on the RMC campus. Masterclass spots will be open to high school and college students from the Billings area who are studying music, with preference in the area of piano.

“We are excited to host Christopher O'Riley for a masterclass at Rocky Mountain College,” said Jennifer Bratz, RMC’s Associate Academic Vice President and Assistant Professor of Music. “This is an extraordinary opportunity for both our Rocky students and young community musicians to learn from such an acclaimed musician.”

O’Riley is currently in his 15th year on the air, and introduces the next generation of classical-music stars to approximately a million listeners each week on From the Top, which is broadcasted by 250 stations across the U.S. He also hosted the Emmy Award-winning television series From the Top at Carnegie Hall, and has collaborated with Yo-Yo ma, Bobby McFerrin, Midori, Béla Fleck, Joshua Bell, Hilary Hahn, Sir James Galway, Michael Feinstein, and many more.
