RMC cheerleaders volunteer at local elementary schools for “I Love to Read” month
BILLINGS, February 5, 2015 – The Battlin’ Bears cheerleaders are spending the month of February volunteering their time to read to children at two local elementary schools in honor of “I love to Read” month. Once a week throughout the month of February, the RMC cheerleaders will be spending at least one to two hours volunteering at Highland Elementary and Elder Grove Elementary to read to the children.
“‘I Love to Read Month’ is a perfect time for the squad to help out the youth in our community,” said Head Cheerleading Coach Kelsey Daer. “They will be in two different schools volunteering their time reading and working with different groups of kids.”
For many of the schools in the Billings area, the entire month of February is dedicated to “I Love to Read Month,” which provides opportunities for students to explore reading in new ways that help motivate students to read while having some fun in the process.
“Being a collegiate athlete is an amazing accomplishment and the opportunity to represent RMC is an added bonus,” said Daer. “I am extremely proud of this group of student athletes and their eagerness to volunteer and give back.”
