Thompsett cards a first round 70, tied for fifth

BILLINGS, Mont. – May 19, 2015 – Rocky Mountain College men’s golfer Daniel Thompsett finished the first round of the NAIA National Golf Championships by carding a 70, which tied him for fifth place.

The 64th edition of the tournament is being played at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Thompsett, who finished 2014 as a third team NAIA All-American, is scheduled to begin his second round Wednesday, May 20, at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. The tournament concludes Friday, May 22.

Thompsett, who graduated from Rocky May 2, is from Aboyne, Scotland. He qualified for nationals by winning the Frontier Conference championship by two strokes over Lewis-Clark State’s Cole Lorenzo.
