Rocky inks junior college point guard
BILLINGS, Mont. – April 21, 2015 – Rocky Mountain College men’s head basketball coach Bill Dreikosen has announced the signing of Trenton Pollard, a point guard from Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Coon Rapids, Minn.
Pollard (5’10) won several awards during his two-year career at Anoka-Ramsey, including being named a 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association Honorable Mention All-American.
He was a two-time All-Southern and All-Minnesota Collegiate Athletic Conference selection. In 2014, he was named the Region XIII Tournament Most Valuable Player, after helping lead the Golden Rams to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament for only the second time in school history.
For his career at Anoka-Ramsey, Pollard totaled 1,228 points. He finished this season scoring 621 points (20.7 per game) to go along with nearly four rebounds and three assists per contest. In the last regular season game of the season, Pollard scored a career high 40 points versus Riverland Community College, which earned him the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week.
“We are very excited about Trent joining the Battlin’ Bears,” Dreikosen said. “He has an excellent basketball I.Q. He can score as well as create easy opportunities for his teammates. We look forward to him positively impacting our program.”
Dreikosen, whose Battlin’ Bears qualified for a third-straight NAIA National Tournament appearance this March, plans to announce the signing of several more players this spring.
