Red Lodge’s Russell signs with Rocky volleyball
BILLINGS, Mont. – January 7, 2016 – Rocky Mountain College volleyball coach Laurie Kelly has announced the signing of Red Lodge High School standout Daniella Russellto an NAIA National Letter of Intent.
Russell, a 5-foot-9 middle hitter, was a four-year starter and helped lead the Rams to this year’s Class B State Championship. Her efforts earned her a position on the all-tournament team.
Russell was selected first-team All-State her junior and senior seasons, and was All-Conference all four years. She was recently named third-team small school All-American as well as being selected to the Great Falls Tribune Super State Volleyball Team.
“Daniella is a versatile athlete and can play any position,” Kelly said. “She excels as a hitter with a great arm swing and jumping ability. She is also a top-notch student. We are thrilled that she chose Rocky Mountain College, where she will be a great fit.”
“Rocky has a tradition of winning and I want to be part of an environment where the team is expected to succeed and the players are expected to perform on the court and in the classroom,” Russell said.
