Position Description

Teach MAT210 (Probability and Statistics) in the Fall 2021 semester. Openings are available for several sections.

Class Description

MAT210 is 3-credit non-calculus based statistics class; it a general education/core class, enrollments are typically 30-40 students per section. The class is offered in an online format using Moodle with set class meeting times.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience teaching mathematics at the college level; experience teaching an introductory (non-calculus based) statistics class at the undergraduate level.
  • Ability to work with the Moodle online teaching platform.
  • Ability to hold online meetings with students via Google meet or Zoom during the scheduled class times; meet online with students for additional office hours if required.

Technology Requirements

A laptop or desktop computer running an internet browser such as Safari or Google Chrome; Microsoft Excel to maintain a grade book, a TI-83/84 calculator or an Apple iPhone to run a statistical calculator app; a high-speed internet connection.
