Position Description

This position is responsible for leading all aspects of the Aviation Safety Program including: training, meetings, inspections and audits, the Safety Committee, development of the program, relationships with FAA and industry, and incident/accident investigation.  This position also leads all aspects of the flight simulator program including scheduling, maintenance and upgrades.  Is a member of the Aviation Review Board assisting in overall direction of the Aviation Program.  Coordinates training at Flight Operations with simulator training and aids in the development of Flight Operations policies and curriculum and professional growth of flight instructors.  Flying as a CFI is possible.

Education and/or Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
  • Excellent leadership, written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience as a pilot on a crew airplane is required. Airline pilot experience preferred. Certificates, licenses, registrations
  • Certified Flight Instructor, Instruments (CFII), Multi Engine Instructor (MEI) and Class III or above FAA medical certificate required. Airline Transport Pilot preferred.

Other Skills

  • Ability to work with computer software programs required.
  • Experience in the use of Flight Training devices or flight simulators highly desired.
