Student Leadership Development

The Student Life Division at Rocky Mountain College is excited to help you discover where YOU might fit this summer and next school year. Getting involved with these programs and departments is a great way to be part of the Rocky family, to possibly help fund your education, and to grow as a leader. Each opportunity offers different personal and professional development benefits, so explore and possibly apply for more than one, to ensure that you find the right fit for you!

In addition to these opportunities – many offices and departments across campus will be recruiting and hiring other work study funded positions beginning in early-August. All work study positions will be posted in RMC CareerLink.


Chaplain & Office of Spiritual Life

Provides for the spiritual growth and wellbeing of the campus community through initiatives that encourage supportive community, conversation and learning, and faith put into action.

Student Leader for Diversity and Inclusion (apply in RMC CareerLink, search for job #13414):

  • Plan and facilitate programs that encourage inclusion and build awareness of diversity and equity on campus
  • Work with the Diversity and Inclusivity Task Force

Service Project Coordinator (apply in RMC CareerLink, search for job #16984):

  • Plan and coordinate service projects and events that address social issues and promote community engagement and volunteerism.
  • Recruit volunteers for service projects and events
  • Support hunger and homelessness programming

Student Assistant for Spiritual Life (apply in RMC CareerLink, search for job #16983):

  • Assist the Chaplain with various tasks such as maintaining social media communication
  • Assist with programs such as Cookie Table, Crafts for a Cause, and Coffee and Conversation
  • Plan and promote Spiritual Life events and activities
  • Collaborate with Service Project coordinators on volunteer opportunities

Outdoor Recreation & Intramurals

Provides students opportunities and activities challenging to the individual and promoting wellness.  Experiences empower students to recreate independently and as a community. Students become more aware of themselves and their environment.

  • This is a short term volunteer opportunity
  • Assist with a myriad of events associated with New Student Orientation
  • Facilitate challenge activities during the Leadership Summit and New Student Orientation

Rocktivities

The student activities department on campus, is devoted to creating, organizing, and implementing regularly-scheduled events for the student body. Each event aims at increasing students’ connection to the Rocky community.

  • work with other student team members to create, plan, implement and evaluate all student events sponsored by Rocktivities
  • work-study as well as non-work-study positions are available

Office of Residence Life

To provide students with a safe residential living community that supports the academic experience through community responsibility and offers opportunities for success. All Residence Life positions can be applied for at www.rocky.edu/joinourteam

Summer Housing/Campus Support Staff

  • On-campus students
  • Compensation on-campus housing
  • Administrative tasks, advising residents, front desk staffing, building security (on-duty), policy enforcement, programming, Assist in the preparation of rooms for summer student and/or summer camps/conference guest check in; including but not limited to: detailed inspections and cleaning of rented space(s), furniture set-ups/arrangements, set-up and tear-down of rented equipment

Resident Advisors

  • On-campus Sophomore or above students
  • Stipend paid (do not have to be work-study eligible), housing, and meal plan
  • Administrative tasks, advising residents, building security (on-duty), policy enforcement, programming

Night Monitors

  • On-campus students
  • Hourly work-study
  • Front desk staffing (building security monitoring, spare key check-outs, guest check-ins)

Peer Review Board (Non-Residence Life position)

  •  RMC enrolled students (on and off-campus, multiple class standings, athletic teams and not on athletic teams)
  • Stipend paid (at the end of semester) (do not have to be work-study eligible)
  • Adjudicate reports of policy violations, suggest changes to conduct models and policy language

Leadership, Engagement, and Achievement Program (LEAP)

Supports student development and growth by providing meaningful advocacy, intervention and counsel, as well as, social and academic support programming. Great opportunity to engage with students during their first year at Rocky.

  • weekly one on one meetings with first-year RMC students
