Position Description

Rocky Mountain College, a small liberal arts institution in Billings, Montana, is accepting applications for a Director of Native American Outreach and Programming. The institution has seen a marked increase in both interest and enrollment of Native students. We seek an individual who is familiar with the challenges facing Native students, outgoing, team-oriented, and willing to make a difference. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide advocacy, assistance, and non-academic advising to enrolled Native students;
  • Assist in the cultivation, development, and securing of resources to continue to provide scholarship and grant opportunities for Native students;
  • Build, maintain, and engage positive relationships between the institution and tribal communities, tribal governments, tribal colleges and high schools, as well as both private and governmental agencies;
  • Assist in the active recruitment and retention of Native students to Rocky Mountain College.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, willingness to travel, strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated leadership skills, familiarity with database and word processing software, and a valid driver’s license. Demonstrated customer service and/or previous education or higher education experience preferred.
